This legislation mandates the Small Business Administration (SBA) to enhance cybersecurity for small businesses by developing and disseminating crucial information and resources. In consultation with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the SBA will assist small business concerns in strengthening their cybersecurity infrastructure and implementing best practices. Specifically, for small businesses pursuing federal contracts or subcontracts, the SBA, in coordination with the Department of Defense, must provide detailed information on the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program to facilitate compliance. This vital information will be disseminated through small business development centers, SBA district offices, and prominently published on the Administration's website. The bill also requires annual consultations between the SBA Administrator and the Chief Counsel for Advocacy to determine best practices for disseminating cybersecurity information, alongside an annual report to Congress on small business cybersecurity inquiries.
