This bill, formally known as the Stormwater Treatment Optimization, Resilience, and Management With Academic Technological Expertise and Research Act , or the STORMWATER Act, aims to extend and modify the existing authorization for centers of excellence focused on stormwater control infrastructure technologies. It amends the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act by specifying that there shall be exactly five centers , rather than a range of three to five. A key new provision requires that one of these five centers must be located in and specifically focused on the Great Lakes region , addressing its unique stormwater management challenges.
