This bill amends title 10, United States Code, to enhance the periodic health assessments for members of the Armed Forces. Beginning in 2026, the Secretary of Defense must ensure these assessments include a set of specific annual tests. These mandatory annual tests comprise a sports physical , an electrocardiogram , and comprehensive blood work , which includes a metabolic panel and complete blood count. Additionally, if deemed necessary, a thyroid stimulating hormone test and a brain natriuretic peptide test must be performed. The bill further requires the inclusion of any other tests or evaluations mandated by law or determined appropriate by the Secretary of Defense.
