Not In My Barn Yard Act

This legislation aims to restrict the Federal Government's ability to acquire certain private property. Specifically, it prohibits the exercise of eminent domain over agricultural land if a feasible alternative exists for the public use for which the Government seeks to acquire the land. The bill defines "agricultural land" as property in the United States used for farming, ranching, forestry production, or timber production, either currently or within the preceding five-year period. However, it excludes small parcels of land, specifically those not exceeding ten acres with annual gross receipts from agricultural products under $1,000. It is important to note that this prohibition on eminent domain does not apply to any proceedings that commenced before the date of the bill's enactment.
