This concurrent resolution authorizes the National Fraternal Order of Police and its auxiliary to host two significant public events on the Capitol Grounds in May 2026. The first event is the 45th Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service , scheduled for May 15, 2026, to honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty during 2025, with preparations from May 7 to May 17, 2026. The second authorized event is the National Honor Guard and Pipe Band Exhibition , set for May 14, 2026, allowing law enforcement representatives to demonstrate Honor Guard programs and provide a bagpipe exhibition. Both event dates are subject to joint designation by the Speaker of the House and the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration. These events must be free of admission charge and open to the public , and arranged not to interfere with congressional activities. The sponsors are fully responsible for all expenses and liabilities, and the Architect of the Capitol must approve any temporary structures, while the Capitol Police Board enforces restrictions on sales and solicitations.
