This bill authorizes the Department of State to enter into a public-private partnership to establish a U.S.-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) center in the United States to support U.S. economic and cultural engagement with Southeast Asia. The functions of the center include (1) providing grants for research to support and elevate the importance of the U.S.-ASEAN partnership, (2) expanding economic and technological relationships between the United States and ASEAN countries, and (3) developing educational programs to increase awareness of the importance of relations between the United States and ASEAN countries.
