Protect Children Through Safe Gun Ownership Act This bill establishes federal statutory requirements to regulate the storage of firearms on residential premises. Among its provisions, the bill generally requires firearms on residential premises to be kept, left, or stored in a secure gun storage or safety device. Additionally, the bill requires the Department of Education to award competitive grants to local educational agencies for educating parents on gun safety and the importance and necessity of secure gun storage.
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Education and the Workforce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
