Supporting the people of Belarus and their democratic aspirations and condemning the election rigging and subsequent violent crackdowns on peaceful protestors by the Government of the Republic of Belarus.

This resolution: finds the 2020 presidential elections in Belarus to be undemocratic; expresses support for the people of Belarus in their pursuit of democracy and human rights; calls on Belarus to cease human rights violations and violence against demonstrators; and urges the United States and the European Union to respond to the events in Belarus, including through targeted sanctions.
