Blocking Iran Illicit Finance Act This bill expands sanctions against Iranian financial institutions that engage in various prohibited activities. It also directs the President to impose sanctions against (1) persons that provide financial messaging services to such institutions, and (2) persons that conduct significant transactions in any Iranian digital currency.
Referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and in addition to the Committees on Financial Services, the Judiciary, Ways and Means, and Oversight and Government Reform, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
