Naloxone Guidelines Act of 2018 This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to issue guidelines for prescribing an opioid overdose reversal drug (e.g., naloxone). The guidelines must address issues relating to the distribution, education, and safety of opioid overdose reversal drugs, including: co-prescription with an opioid; safe dosages; prescription for non-patients; and standing orders (i.e., orders that allow dispensing without a prescription).
To require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to issue guidelines for prescribing naloxone, and for other purposes.
