To amend title 18, United States Code, to penalize false communications to cause an emergency response, and for other purposes.

Summary

Preventing Swatting and Protecting our Communities Act of 2018 or the Andrew T. Finch Memorial Act of 2018 This bill makes it a crime to intentionally convey false or misleading information that (1) may reasonably be expected to cause an emergency response, and (2) indicates the occurence of criminal conduct or a threat to health or safety. A violator is subject to criminal and civil penalties.
