To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to designate an officer within the Department of Health and Human Services as having primary responsibility for the information security (including cybersecurity) programs of the Department, and for other purposes.

HHS Cybersecurity Modernization Act This bill authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to designate an officer within HHS as having the primary responsibility of information security, including cybersecurity, for HHS programs; HHS may transfer the functions, personnel, assets, and liabilities of the previous Chief Information Security Officer within HHS to the newly designated officer.
