To authorize the Secretary of Energy to establish a prize competition for the research, development, or commercialization of technology that would reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, including by capturing or sequestering carbon dioxide or reducing the emission of carbon dioxide.

Summary

Carbon Capture Prize Act The bill directs the Department of Energy to carry out a competition to award prizes for technology that reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, including through emissions reductions or capturing or sequestering carbon dioxide. Any competition must comply with the Stevenson-Wydler Technology Innovation Act of 1980.
